Smooth Animation
After posting the Hide & Seek animation last month I got quite a few questions about how to create a natural camera motion like animation. So in this tutorial I will show you how to use the tools that came with Vue and some tricks I have learned over the years.
Before you start an(y) animation you have to imagine what it is going to look like. I’m not talking about colors, ambiance, etc., but the basic movement and interaction with what else is in the scene, and the timing. You can write it down or keep it in your head, that doesn't matter. As long as you have thought about it.
So here is my little story for this animation:
I’m walking in a forrest when suddenly an unknown object pops-up. Naturally I stop for a moment to look at it but then when it starts moving again I get curious and start following it, almost chasing the object. After a few seconds and almost bumping into it, it whooshes off with an incredible speed, never to be seen again....
I know it’s a silly story but it really helps to get the motion and timing right.....
